Panamericano Extends Gain, Climbs 5% Amid Speculation of BMG Takeover
Banco Panamericano SA, the Brazilian bank under investigation by the central bank and prosecutors amid allegations of fraud, extended gains in Sao Paulo trading to climb more than 5 percent after O Estado de S. Paulo columnist Sonia Racy reported on the newspaper’s online edition that Banco BMG SA may buy the lender.

Batista's MMX, LLX Advance After Signing Iron-Ore Agreements With Usiminas
MMX rose 2 percent to 14.13 reais and LLX added 2 percent to 9.36 reais at 11:14 a.m. New York time in Sao Paulo trading, making the stocks among the biggest gainers on the Bovespa benchmark index. The measure fell 1.6 percent to 69,231.79.
