Where can I get free ringtones and games without getting sucked into a subscription?

Every where I look, I see free ringtones and free games, but they are not free. Is there any place that doesn't charge you or charge your phone. I have verizon and for four songs it was 4 something. Can anyone help me?

    I got an LG phone from verizon and I can use a usb cable to create my own ringtones, wallpaper, I can add videos and movies and all that for free. using Bitpim

    You can import ringtones & games thru your PC from the internet. For games, you can try www.getjar.com and for ringtones, you can use your own music collection.
