Whats a real way to get free games and consoles without reffering friends?

I just wanted to know if theres a way to get free games without reffering friends or going to gametrailers.com.

    Enter a contest. Look at EGM, Gamepro, and other mags. I forgot which mag is is, but if your letter is chosen as Letter of the Month, you get a free game.
