The Wii Sports Resort game is the perfect upgrade to its predecessor Wii Sports and will be a valuable title in your Wii games collection

Released in July of 2009, Wii Sports Resort is the highly anticipated sequel to Wii Sports.  The original game, Wii Sports, was possibly the catalyst for the success of the Nintendo Wii. Sports video games are the ideal medium for the Wii console because they feature physical activities that highlight the differentiating factor that separates the Wii console from its competitors Sony and Microsoft. Using advanced sensor technology, the Wii allows a gamer to use their controller to manipulate the character in the game with real fluid movement. Each movement while holding the controller translates to what is seen on the television. 

 

Wii Sports Resort improves upon the original in a variety of different ways. Wii Sports featured a mere five different sports: tennis, boxing, baseball, golf, anD bowling. The sequel has upped the ante by adding ten brand new sports. While it includes bowling and golf from the original, it has added: Wakeboarding, Air Sports, Archery, Frisbee, Canoeing, Swordplay, Cycling, Basketball, Power Cruising and Table Tennis. Table Tennis is similar to the original tennis game, however it is modified to include the ability for the gamer to add spin to the ball while still swinging the controller. 

 

Way to often do we find ourselves playing a video game and “beating” it. Once we’ve beaten a game we get bored of it and all of a sudden the game has served its purpose. Sports games are different like most Wii games because part of the fun of the game is playing with more than one person. Even though you can have hours of fun playing this game by yourself, it is even more fun to play with you family and friends.

 

Everyone loves a little friendly competition. Having ten additional games in this version of the game will only make your enjoyment of the game last longer. Players will love trying each game on their own and perfecting their skills. Then they will be able to take their newly acquired skills and challenge their parents or even their grandparents. Everyone can relate to the simplicity of the Wii Sports Resort game play and will find this to be one of the most addicting Wii games to be introduced for the console. 

 

One feature that is different from the original is that the game is set at the beach on Wuhu Island. This beach setting creates a fun atmosphere that is cheery. It is important to note that Wii Sports Resort is one of the Wii games that is only compatible with the Wii Motion Plus add-on. This add-on was created to enhance the sensors of the original controller, in turn increasing the accuracy of the player’s movement. Overall your gaming experience with Wii Sports Resort will be a pleasurable one.

 

Over the course of the next year Nintendo Wii will begin releasing new versions of Wii Sports Resort that will feature additional games and levels. It is expected that the Wii Sports Resort will be a continuing game that will generate numerous sequels.
