Playlist For Whole Album - www.youtube.com What ghosts exist behind these attic walls? There's got to be a simpler explanation Because I scrimped and I saved Just to find that they've been splicing my inventions Cold skin and bones and this latitude We ain't paying until the heat comes through So you slept in a stocking cap and wool scarf Promises of payments were Upon your shoulders constantly But don't forget to entertain Because this is your first defense A four-year offense to the devoted type I may have got an invitation, but I wasn't invited But I thought that this meant something more Than broken hearts and new addictions We'll leave our sins within the carpet twine Our bodies will dissolve the chemicals in due time Promises of payments were Upon your shoulders constantly But don't forget to entertain Because this is your first defense This is my last defense

this was my favorite song when i was in high school and now about 7 years later, im falling in love with it again. fave song forever.
ReplyDeleteMan, I hope he sees it! Those are some well said words.
ReplyDelete@ Mccarthedude : hahahha, i laughed really hard when i read your comment!
ReplyDeleteLove this song, always will...but Ben Gibbard is a douchebag in person and that has kinda ruined it for me.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately he is a douche. And much to obsessed with money. You'd think that a great musician who isn't all that attractive would be a little more down to earth.... oh well.
ReplyDeleteis he? how?
ReplyDeleteBen Gibbard's a douche? Nooooooo! :(
ReplyDeleteamazing song
ReplyDeleteThis makes me think of laying in the grass when I was 11 and feeling like life was just rewinding for some reason.

ReplyDeleteWe can only hope and dream.
This song takes all my emotions, mixes them up, and leaves me feeling... alive. It's completely brilliant, and I love it.
Song is too beautiful I can't help but cry
ReplyDelete@Yazdiane even if he's a douche he knows how to tug on my heart strings with that voice
ReplyDeletewhat's up with the last few seconds? they just hurt me ears.
ReplyDelete@emomotorgeek Thank you!
ReplyDeleteBen Gibbard, you wrote amazing songs that touch people in underscribable ways, that both keep you awake thinking and put you to sleep soothingly. Then you wrote stuff like Narrow Stairs - it's fine, it's good, but it's not DCFC, it doesn't touch me. You wrote albums like We Have the Facts and We're Votting Yes, that make me want to cry, that prove you are a lyrical genious, and then you sold out, you ruined yourself.
ReplyDelete@vvvwvvvvvv Its called progression. You probably don't like the same music you did 10 years ago. No band wants to play the same music for 10 years bands evolve and change just like people, get used to it. This old stuff is great obviously but the new stuff isn't bad either its just different. If you go through life listening to the same thing all the time you don't really enjoy music.
ReplyDelete@ollie1504 Fair enough
ReplyDeleteThis is probably my favorite dcfc song. For years every time i hear it i have to put it on repeat over at least to hear it one more time. I always wished that you would at least for some ep or something get the part from 1:45 to 2:05 and just rock it for a long time, transatlanticism or i will possess your heart style. One day I should just mix it myself
ReplyDeleteThese songs are so amazing... They carry an immense nostalgic value, as I'm sure they do for the rest of you :) peace and love
ReplyDelete@explodingbarrel2 lol clearly you aren't a whore for feedback like I am :)
ReplyDelete@fisheatsteel Dude... those are the same words i would of spoke if i got here before you... Ben Gibbard is a Legend. when you look out the window, and see the world pass by... thats death cab. Life.
ReplyDeletecurrently my favorite death cab song. this stuff is so much better than Plans sometimes.
