Should we rescind Tax Free status for Religions that engage in "politics"?

Question by Hoekom Jy My Haat: Should we rescind Tax Free status for Religions that engage in "politics"?
I believe that churches and other tax free organisations that engage in "politics" should lose their exempt status.

For example, some High Holy Roller in the Roman Catholic Church in AZ is engaging in political acts by opposing AZ's new anti illegal procedures, and then has the Chutzpah to liken it to Nazism.

Full Disclosure: I am a church attending Catholic.

There should be no tax free exemptions for churches period! Look at the Evangelists and how they abuse the whole system. No offense to the good ones. Just the ones that think greed doesn't apply to them. Think of all the money the government would make to tax the churches. Wow . That would shut up the Catholic hypocrites at the Vatican.

What do you think? Answer below!

  1. There should be no special status for religion anyway!
Why should my tax money go, directly or indirectly, to the promotion of dogma and superstition?
In a free society, people have the right to believe in whatever brand of nonsense they choose, but not to have it bankrolled by the state!

YES!!!! At least those churches that allow it in their parish.

  3. Current law requires that a tax exempt organization not engage in politics. They should not do so and if done should not be tax exempt.
