When you get a salary it is a yearly figure-no matter what. Even if you get out early, have to stay extra hours for finishing the work assigned, etc. You are not entitled to "overtime pay." Usually a salary will be more than you would make during a year if you were "punching in" or keeping track of your hours for your employer.

Wages you will probably get paid by the hour, week or by the "job" but generally speaking "wages" can just be the money you get in exchange for your labor.

  1. you work longer hours on salary if you are paid by the hour you will be able to leave at quit time do no overtime is paid salary you work until the job is done
