Why does my computer say "checksum error press F1" whenever i boot up? How do i fix it?


Question by jwanph: Why does my computer say "checksum error press F1" whenever i boot up? How do i fix it?
Whenever i turn on my pc it says "checksum error". I have to press F1 to contunue the boot up.Then after the boot up my time settings would go back to January 2001. (Both system time and windows time). How do i fix it?

The cause is obvious! your CMOS battery has ran out!!you should buy and replace the backup battery of your CMOS (Usually on mother board).Your computer can not keep CMOS data and also the built in real time clock of your mother board does not work any more.and the solution is just replacing the battery with a new one.
