How much better is "some college" than just a high school diploma?

Question by Anonymous :): How much better is "some college" than just a high school diploma?
Do people who have taken some college courses, but no degree, have any advantage over those with only a high school diploma for employment?
For example someone has one or two years worth of college experience, but never finished a degree. Does it help anything at all?
They say the more education you have, the better chances you have for success. But is this still true in this situation? What are the advantages of having "some college", but no degree?

2 years of college is an associates degree. But I would say, yes, any college is better then none, you could still be in college, that's why they have "some high school" or "some college" options...

PlayStation Network Overview - It's Not Just For Games

PlayStation Network Overview - It's Not Just For Games

The PSN, or PlayStation Network, is Sony's method of giving online access to the PlayStation 3. The service competes directly with Microsoft's Xbox Live, and as such, the two are frequently compared. The cost of the PlayStation Network is included with the purchase price of the console, and users won't be required to pay any additional money in order to use the service.

Gaming Over the PlayStation Network

Playing multiplayer games online is done through the PlayStation Network. This process is automatic; so long as you've registered with the PlayStation Network, which you'll be prompted to do the first time you power on your PlayStation 3 and connect it to the Internet, you won't have to sign into PSN when you want to play a game online. Instead, simply play the game itself and use the menus to navigate to online play.

Using the PlayStation Network Store for Purchasing Games

One of the most useful features of the PlayStation Network is the PlayStation Store, where you can browse, preview, and purchase games for your PlayStation 3 console. To access the PlayStation Store, simply turn on your PlayStation 3 and scroll over the to the PlayStation Network icon. From here, scroll down to PlayStation Store and press the X button.

From here, you'll be able browse through a selection of new releases, game demos, add-ons, and other media to enhance your PlayStation experience. On the right of your screen, you'll see a listing of the most popular PlayStation Store downloads. A menu on the left gives a listing of your options, including New Releases, Games, View All by Title, Demos, Add-Ons, Media, Themes & Avatars, and more. The Demos section offers an extensive listing of playable demos for current PS3 games, as well as upcoming games for the console. The Games section offers full games, ranging from high definition PlayStation 3 exclusives such as WipeOut HD to PlayStation One classics like Final Fantasy VII. Higher budget modern games usually cost between and . Older PlayStation One games cost around , and sometimes even less. Demos are free.

Using the PlayStation Network Store for Viewing Movies and TV Shows

Using the PSN to rent, purchase, and view movies and TV shows is nearly identical to purchasing and playing games. You'll access the PlayStation Store in the same way. Look for a tab at the top of the screen labeled Video and select it. From here, you can rent or buy standard definition and high definition movies and stream them directly to your PS3 for storage. Rental movies are available for 24 hours, while purchased movie remain on your hard drive indefinitely. Prices range from .99 for an older standard definition movie to .50 for a new release in high definition, while movie purchases cost between .99 and .99.

TV episodes are also available for purchase. For example, you can purchase new episodes of ABC's Lost immediately after they air at a cost of .99 for standard definition or .99 for high definition. These episodes are yours to keep on your hard drive.

The PlayStation Network offers a fantastic means of getting your PS3 online and experiencing the best content the system has to offer. With game demos, full games, and high definition movies, the PSN represent a complete entertainment package.

What games can we play in class just by passing paper around?

My russian class gets really slow sometimes, and my entire class likes to play games where we all pass a piece of paper around and do something. Our favorite is the Monster Game, where we each add something to the monster when the paper gets to us. But we've grown bored of this, so we need something new. BTW the game has to be subtle, because one of the teachers is really strict and allows no talking at all. ever.

PS2 Swap Magic - Import And Backup PS2 Games Are Just One Swap Magic Away

PS2 Swap Magic - Import And Backup PS2 Games Are Just One Swap Magic Away

Playing import games on your Playstation 2 or new Slim PSTwo console was virtually impossible, considering that it required you to install a mod chip into your PS2 machine, something that not everyone is able to do, or is willing to do. A PS2 Mod Chip requires you to solder small wires to some pretty small solder points right on the main board (motherboard) of your PS2 Console. Playing import games was really for the hard core gamer, and the gamers that would be willing to do some internal surgery to their ps2 consoles.

Just why would you WANT to play import games from Japan on your PS2?  There are a myriad of reasons as to why, but the biggest reason and motivation is simply because of the games themselves.  Many games first come out in Japan.  This is the case for many of our favorite dance game, role playing games, and various other genres.  Some games don't even make it to North America and are only released in Japan.

Now, I want to make something clear.  While Japanese games do in fact tend to come in the Japanese language, many of the games are filled with English dialog, spoken and written, so it's not as though we're trying to play a game we can't understand.  In the case of the Dance Dance revolution games, and various other games, theres simply no need to worry about the language barrier as we can start playing them straight away.

It used to be extremely difficult to play these games, requiring users to open their ps2 systems, solder tiny wires to the motherboard of the PS2 and put it back together again - hoping that not a single wire was in the wrong place out of the 16 - 25 that had to be soldered.

The PS2 Swap Magic changed all of that. With the PS2 Swap Magic there is absolutely no need to solder anything or install any type of chip into your PS2 console. In fact, unlike mod chips for the Playstation 2, with the PS2 Swap Magic you'll be ready to play your import game in just seconds. By using the PS2 Swap Magic and a PS2 Cover, you'll instantly be able to play your import and backup Playstation 2 games without any hassles or fuss.

The PS2 Swap Magic Disc acts as a loader for all of your import and personal backup games. You'll first load up the PS2 Swap Magic disc, and when greeted with the main menu, you will select LOAD PROGRAM and press your X button. At which time, you have to remove and take out the PS2 Swap Magic disc and insert the game disc you wish to load. Unlike a mod chip, where once installed, you just put in the game disc you want to play, the latest import or backup game and power up your PS2 console to start playing. You will have to do what's called a single swap with the PS2 Swap Magic discs. What this means is that you'll simply put in the PS2 Swap Magic Disc first, before your game, and then swap it out after the Swap magic for PS2 has loaded.

While heavy mod chip users consider this annoying, for people like myself, who would prefer not to solder and perform electronics surgery, it's a very small price to pay for being able to play those really cool Japanese and European games. With the newest versions, there are also some added benefits over mod chips, such as loading homebrew applications and software directly from your ps2 memory card. Something that mod chips simply do not allow you to do, unless you buy the high end mod chips like the DMS4, etc... which require even more wires to be soldered.

The features of the PS2 Swap Magic speak for themselves, and clearly indicate that the need for a ps2 mod chip is eliminated completely and there is absolutely no modification required to your ps2 console in order to play your import and backup games with ease.

What is important to note is that when you buy the PS2 Swap Magic, you'll actually get 2 individual discs. Don't worry, and don't be confused. One is clearly marked as a CD-Rom disc, which the other Swap Magic disc is the DVD Disc. You'll need both discs, depending on what type of game you are trying to load. The PS2 Swap Magic CD Version is needed for CD based games (yes, some PS2 games - even your personal backup games you may have made) actually fit on a CD-Rom disc, in which case, you will need to use the PS2 Swap Magic CD Disc to load the game. Most games, especially newer ones however require the use of the PS2 Swap Magic DVD Disc. It's really not very hard at all to determine which type of game disc you have, simply because you can look at the disc itself and it should have either the CD-Rom or the DVD logo on the game disc, or blank disc media on which you saved your backup copy.

The PS2 Swap Magic allows anyone to play import and backup Playstation 2 games without a mod chip, and without any need for soldering or technical skills.  And with the Swap Magic Slide Card combo you'll have everything you need right out of the box.  You can find out more about the PS2 Swap Magic at http://www.ps2cover.com
